The first diamond jubilee Pakistani Urdu film Zarqa.
Prominent writer Riaz Shahid’s “Zarqa” became the first ever diamond jubilee film in Pakistan when it crossed 101 weeks in Karachi. Many other big Urdu and Punjabi movies were released in this year and they achieved some great successes.
This film was about Palestinian people, who are suffering and struggling against Israeli occupation af their home land.
Neelo Acts as Zarqa.

Chaudhrani – Pkistani Punjabi Movie Chaudhrani

Chaudrani was keenly anticipated upon release as it brought back Punjabi cinema’s favourite daughter back to the silver screen, where she belonged. Anjuman chose Chaudrani as the film that would relaunch her career after an exile of a handful of years. The film also garnered a couple of National Award nominations suggesting massive critical acclaim and also did well at the box office – it seemed that fans had welcomed their back their favourite “Dhee Punjab Di” with open arms. Sadly, the comeback was to go horribly awry after this movie which remains the only success of her handful of return ventures.
The film is pretty run of the mill vengeance filled rubbish, but is elevated from the sea of similar garbage by the performance and sheer star quality of Anjuman who shows just why she has ruled for three decades. The music is not a strength and nor are the tedious fight scenes, though Shaan’s gazelle shoot is interesting to say the least. Anjuman however saves the day!

Bol – Pakistani Movie Bol

Bol (Speak up) is the second film written and directed by Shoaib Mansoor and has done extremely well in Pakistan. Like his first film, this is also a social commentary, which looks to reflect a slice of society, as well as challenge it.

Based in Lahore, it takes place in the house of a family of young girls and highlights the challenges and confrontations they have with their father, who continues to embody the contradictions of many religious values, which in turn accentuates the growing poverty, troubles and sufferings of the family.

The story focuses on Zainab, a daughter who always feels compelled by her logical reasoning and sense of justice to challenge the values her father holds dear. It’s an emotional film, which looks at some serious issues through the experiences of its characters.
